Bidenomics
The CHIPS and Science Act earmarked $280 billion to support semiconductor chip production plus research and development in the fields of quantum computing, artificial intelligence, clean energy, and nanotechnology. The Inflation Reduction Act is a $740 billion initiative that intends to bolster green technology, sustainable energy, and electric vehicle manufacturing. The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act intends to create millions of union jobs over the next decade and pump $550 billion in new federal investments into America’s roads and bridges, water infrastructure, resilience, and broadband. For consumers, the Biden administration wants to counter climate change, lower healthcare and prescription drug costs, and eliminate “junk fees” — unexpected charges often not included in the initial price of a product. There’s also been a major antitrust-enforcement push by the Federal Trade Commission and Chair Lina Khan.
