The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act intends to create millions of union jobs over the next decade and pump $550 billion in new federal investments into America’s roads and bridges, water infrastructure, resilience, and broadband. For consumers, the Biden administration wants to counter climate change, lower healthcare and prescription drug costs, and eliminate “junk fees” — unexpected charges often not included in the initial price of a product. There’s also been a major antitrust-enforcement push by the Federal Trade Commission and Chair Lina Khan.
